Challenges & Solutions
Challenge
The project faced a compressed timeline requiring the live transfer of critical cold storage equipment from an old facility over a single weekend, demanding precise coordination to prevent stock loss and maintain the cold chain. Any delay in the switchover risked spoilage of temperature-sensitive food products. The new facility's electrical infrastructure had to be fully tested and commissioned ahead of the migration weekend to guarantee a seamless transition.
Solution
CPR deployed a large, specialised team and heavy equipment to accelerate the installation and ensure readiness for the critical migration weekend. Meticulous planning — including staged switchboard commissioning, refrigeration circuit verification and backup power contingency — allowed for a seamless weekend migration, ensuring Bidfood was operational in the new premises with minimal downtime and zero stock loss.
