Dingo Flour Mill Bulk Outloading Upgrade
for
Allied Pinnacle
Full site electrical audit and bulk outloading system upgrade for Allied Pinnacle's heritage Dingo Flour Mill in North Fremantle, including MCC installation, Allen Bradley PLC programming and plant commissioning.

Overview
CPR Electrical was engaged by Allied Pinnacle to conduct a comprehensive electrical audit of their Dingo Flour Mill on Stirling Highway, North Fremantle – a heritage-listed facility originally built in 1922. Over three months, every electrical asset across the site was systematically identified and labelled, including all motors and instrumentation, establishing a complete asset register to guide future upgrade priorities.
Following the audit, Allied Pinnacle elected to upgrade the bulk outloading section of the facility – a critical production area handling approximately 24 tonnes of flour up to three times daily for local deliveries. The project scope called for replacing ageing switchboards, damaged cabling and worn equipment with modern, reliable electrical infrastructure.
Scope of Work
• Installation of new motor control centre (MCC)
• Motor cabling and instrumentation cabling throughout bulk outloading section
• Full instrumentation equipment installation and wiring
• New Allen Bradley PLC installation and programming
• Plant commissioning and operational testing
• HMI configuration and client handover training
Challenges & Solutions
Challenge
The Dingo Flour Mill needed to remain fully operational throughout the upgrade, requiring all new cabling and instrumentation to be pre-wired and tested off-line prior to cutover. CPR was allocated a two-week window for cutover and commissioning, which was interrupted when Allied Pinnacle needed to power up the plant mid-cutover to fulfil a delivery order. Working within a facility built in 1922 presented additional challenges, such as integrating modern control systems with legacy electrical infrastructure demanded careful planning to bridge the gap between old and new systems.
Solution
CPR pre-staged all new cabling, instrumentation and control equipment prior to the cutover window, enabling rapid switchover with minimal production disruption. When the commissioning timeline was interrupted by an urgent production requirement, our team safely restored temporary power to meet the client's delivery obligation before resuming the upgrade. Our electricians' experience with legacy industrial infrastructure ensured smooth integration between the heritage facility's existing systems and the new Allen Bradley PLC and MCC, delivering a reliable modern control platform without requiring a full site rewire.
Project Outcome
The project was delivered successfully, exceeding Allied Pinnacle's expectations while working within their operational timeframes and delivery commitments. The new bulk outloading system now operates with modern, reliable electrical infrastructure, including a fully commissioned Allen Bradley PLC and HMI, providing Allied Pinnacle with improved control, monitoring and operational efficiency across their flour outloading operations.
